Wii sales are off the charts,and according to Wired.com the average Wii sits on a shelf for just one hour before being bought. Every month, 1.8 million Wiis are made, and North America gets about 40% of these. According to Wired, "The Americas are the only territory in which supply and demand are out of whack for Wii." You would have no problem finding a Wii in Europe or Asia.

Violent video games are really taking the heat, especially from legislators. It seems that countless numbers of bills are filed one after another to curb its effects on society, especially on the innocent.
Since it's one pressing matter, horror author Stephen King finally has spoken his mind regarding it. As for the house bill that was legislated by Massachusetts that will regard violent games as porn, King remains doubtful that it will remain as a law.
As for the whole hubbub happening with the nation and violent video games, King had a mouthful to say about it. Check the full story for his opinion.

Some of you may have seen the news post we posted a few days ago about Spore and Mass Effect using SecuRom's 10-day activation system. And some of you may of seen in the news about BioWare deciding not to use SecuRom’s automatic 10-day activation system. Well spore has seem some sense and followed suit, EA confirmed they will not be using this security system. Source Kotaku

The game credited for causing the current Sony PSP turf in Japan has just gotten better. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G is set to get a trifecta of downloadable quests to expand its already immersive experience.
In the mix are two Event Quests. One will be at the floating arena where players will face Ganototos, Furu Furu, Snow Lion and Gurabimos while the crowd watches. The other Event Quest will show a couple of Shougun Gizami sub-species for you to marvel at.
The third part of the downloadable content is the strange-looking Challenge Quest 04 where Hunters have to don gear that resemble one of five selectable monsters. The screens will show what I'm talking about.

Gamers in Japan are still going wild for the Sony PlayStation Portable. The handheld is still on top of the charts in hardware sales, still being drawn by strong sales of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G which is currently the second best selling game in Japan.
The Wii, which remained on third place for some time now since the PSP entered on top, went up a notch and now stands in second place - although not by a wide margin from the DS Lite. Sales were probably boosted by the presence of Mario Kart Wii.
All things considered, all of the platforms performed more or less the same as the previous week. Here are the rest of the hardware sales figures in Japan for the week of April 27:
* PSP: 92,411
* Wii: 48,796
* DS Lite: 42,435
* PS3: 9,107
* PS2: 7,108
* Xbox 360: 1,283

Well as you have probably heard Spore the brand new Maxis game brought to you by EA will be released later this year, I have just heard from an email by EA with the latest newsletter Spore will be bringing the Creature creator out on June the 17th! Go ahead and Sign up here
The Creature creator is only a demo but it gives fans a chance to use spores creature editor but you can only use 25 percent of the parts avalible which is still quite a bit I think, for just a demo.
I can`t wait for spore it looks pretty epic and i`m a big fan of these type of games like The Sims etc.
Spore will be release on September 5, 2008.
